Troubleshooting and FAQ

Common issues

macOS says Comigo "can't be opened"

Right-click Comigo in Applications → Open → Open. Or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. See Install.

Comigo doesn't see my screen

  1. Settings → Permissions: Screen Recording must be on.
  2. Quit and reopen Comigo — macOS applies Screen Recording only after a restart.
  3. Make sure monitoring isn't paused (⌘⇧P) and the app isn't excluded in Settings → Privacy.
  4. Check the right display is selected in Settings → System.

If Screen Recording is on but still not working after an update, remove Comigo from the Screen Recording list in System Settings, add it again, and relaunch.

No suggestions appear

  • Open Processing Queue (⌘⇧Q). Each check says why it was skipped: no visual change, excluded app, or an error.
  • Make sure an AI model is configured and Test Connection & Discover Models succeeds.
  • With Comigo credits: check your balance in Settings → Account. "Not enough credits" means it's time to buy a pack; if auto top-up failed, update your card.
  • Pick a pace other than Focus if you want more frequent advice.

"Invalid API key" or model errors

Re-paste the key without spaces, then test again. Check the provider's dashboard for balance and model access. LLM Logs (⌘⇧L) shows the exact error returned.

LM Studio doesn't connect

Start LM Studio's local server and load a model. The default address is http://localhost:1234/v1.

Voice doesn't hear me

Allow Microphone (and Speech Recognition) in System Settings. The first time, Comigo may download its local speech model (~150 MB). Spoken replies need an OpenRouter key or Comigo credits.

My MCP client can't connect

Comigo must be running with Enable MCP on. After restarting Comigo or MCP, the token changes — copy the new one. Use the exact URL shown in Settings, including the port and /mcp.

Comigo uses too much space

Settings → Storage: choose text and transcripts only or a lower image quality, lower the size limit, or use Clean Storage Cache from the menu bar.

FAQ

Is Comigo free? Yes. You pay only for the AI you use: Comigo credits, your own provider key, or nothing with a local model.

Does Comigo record everything I do? No. It checks the allowed display on your chosen pace, skips unchanged screens and excluded apps, and stores what it keeps on your Mac. See Privacy.

Will Comigo click, type or send messages for me? No. It only gives advice. You decide what to do.

Does it work offline? With LM Studio and local text recognition, yes. Cloud models need internet.

Which languages does it speak? Voice works in English, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish.

Windows or Intel Mac? Not yet. Comigo currently runs on Macs with Apple silicon.

How do I delete my data? Delete ~/Library/Application Support/copilot/ on your Mac. For your Comigo account, email [email protected].

Can my company get a custom version? Yes — AI2 builds custom assistants. Contact us.
