Comigo / Docs / Get started

Install and first launch

Requirements

  • A Mac with Apple silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4 or newer). Intel Macs are not supported yet.
  • A recent version of macOS.
  • About 250 MB of free space for the app and the small speech model. Larger optional speech models need up to 1.6 GB more.
  • An internet connection for cloud AI models. A local model in LM Studio can work offline.

Download and install

  1. Download Comigo for Mac from the Comigo page (Comigo-0.1.0-arm64.dmg).
  2. Open the disk image and drag Comigo into Applications.
  3. Open Applications and launch Comigo.

"Comigo can't be opened" on first launch

This early version is not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS asks for confirmation the first time:

  1. In Finder, right-click (or Control-click) Comigo in Applications and choose Open, then Open again.
  2. If macOS still blocks it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Comigo.

You only need to do this once. Only do it for a file you downloaded from ai2.marketing.

Permissions

Comigo asks only for what a feature needs. You can change every permission later in Settings → Permissions or in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Permission Used for Without it
Screen Recording Reading the work on your screen; capturing system audio from meetings and videos Comigo can't see your work. You can still chat and create tasks by hand
Accessibility Knowing which app and window are in front Task grouping is less accurate
Microphone Only when you press a microphone or Talk button Voice input is off; typing works
Speech Recognition On-device dictation Comigo falls back to its local Whisper model

macOS applies Screen Recording only after an app restarts. When you grant it, let Comigo relaunch.

First-launch setup

A short guided setup asks:

  1. What do you use this Mac for? This picks a starting assistant style (for example Developer, Marketing, Sales, Executive or Teacher). You can change it any time.
  2. Which languages should Comigo listen for? English, Português (Brasil) and/or Español.
  3. How often should Comigo check the screen? Focus (every 3 min), Balanced (every minute) or Active (every 30 s). Comigo also checks when you switch apps.
  4. How many tasks do you keep going at once? This sets how many task cards stay on the canvas (up to 6).

Then choose how Comigo thinks in Settings → AI models (see Models and credits) and review Settings → Privacy before you turn monitoring on.

Updating

Download the new version from the same page and drag it into Applications, replacing the old one. Your tasks, memories and settings are kept, because they live in your user Library, not inside the app.

Uninstalling

  1. Quit Comigo from the menu bar icon (Quit Comigo).
  2. Drag Comigo from Applications to the Trash.
  3. To also remove your local data, delete the folder ~/Library/Application Support/copilot/ (in Finder: Go → Go to Folder…). This deletes tasks, memories, settings and downloaded speech models.
  4. Optional: open Keychain Access, search for com.ai2.comigo and delete the saved keys and sign-in.
